Guinness World Record Holder

Official Guinness World Record Certificate

In 1990, out of a desire to enhance his comic character known as the Royal Child Seller and Virgin Protector at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, Alfy, along with a team of supporters, broke the Guinness World Record for kissing. In an eight hour period he kissed 8001 different individuals. He went on to break his own record twice more, kissing 10,504 individuals in 1995 and 11,030 in 1998. (You can do the math.) Much to his surprise and amazement, what started as a joke to promote his Renaissance Festival character, ultimately would become known to millions around the world. It was reported in literally hundreds of newspapers around the world (Edinburgh Evening Standard), on countless web sites (www.wikianswers.com ), have dozens of radio interviews (German National Radio,) be mentioned in several books (Kisstory) and become answers in two different trivia board games (Trivial Pursuit, 1990's Edition.) He had TV appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Jenny Jones Show, CNN, VH1,Harry Connick Jr. Valentine Show, Entertainment Tonight, Steve Hartman of CBS, and a BBC Special to name a few. All this from a man who has been happily married to the same woman for over 40 years, has three children and a grandson. Is Alfy every going to try and break his own record which he has now held for over two decades? No, at last report he has decided to retire.
