Alfy has been teaching and motivating people his entire
adult life. Upon leaving college he taught in high schools and colleges for
almost ten years. Then, because of a desire to spend more time with his family,
he went into the highly competitive field of insurance and investment sales.
But even here, he was often more teacher than salesman to his clients. Ever
looking for more challenges and while still very active as an agent, Alfy began
teaching his fellow agents. First, he was employed to train new agents from
various companies who were just entering this very complex profession. From
there he went on to create continuing education classes for his peers.
A man with an ever optimistic outlook on life, Alfy's PMA (positive mental
attitude) has been infectious to those around him who are receptive. While represented
a business college, giving inspirational talks to high school students throughout
the Midwest. He was one of the presenters at the 3M Innovation Center. In addition
to colleges and universities, he has made presentations to such diverse groups
as the Minnesota Bar Association and the American Association of Medical Assistants.
Then in 1993, Alfy was able to combine the two when he was invited to
speak both as a trainer and motivator to the budding insurance industry in Russia
and Siberia, an experience which had a great impact on his life.
Throughout
the years, Alfy has presented programs on such diverse topics as sales techniques,
honesty, winning vocabulary, leadership, success, war & peace, professionalism
in the arts, goal setting, conflict resolution and cultural diversity. The presentation
which has garnered him the most response is a program he developed entitled
"The Power of Listening", a program which has helped countless numbers to improve
their listening skills.
